  1. Said I was not likely to fish, decide that Sunday I need to, hopefully a day out with my disabled mate. It's going to be a lake where he can fish from his chair, as he couldn't play a fish while on crutches, so it looks like Suffolk Water Park may get a visit. It's not for me you understand; Colin hasn't been able to fish since landing his pb last June from Brackens, so he really deserves a trip out, and I want somewhere safe for him. I would like to catch, but even more I want Col to have a good day.

  3. So from April 1st I have a ticket back on a lake I fished a few years back. I hope it's a good idea. I am feeling pretty excited about it. The lake is hard. It's big, almost 20 acres, with a small number of quality fish. It is tap water clear, very weedy, and shallow. Most of the lake is up to 5 ft deep. Add to this that it has a resident 12 ish swans that love a boillie or 500 and it is a recipe for many frustrating blanks. In fact, the main reason I'm going back is that this lake did me royally last time. I did a year (ish) for a grand total of no fish banked, no fish lost. I fed about 25 kg

  4. I agree entirely fella. My syndi looks like gravy at the mo but last week the bird life was still finding my dark brown baits in 9 ft of water.

  5. I've been through all the cheaper brands (and a couple of the more expensive ones) over the years and last year took the plunge and bought some Costa Del Mar 580G's. They're not just a bit better than the others, they're a million miles ahead IMO. Not cheap, but defo the most effective. Even the plastic lens ones (580P) were better than anything else I've tried, but the 580G's (glass lenses) are on a completely different level. If you truly aren't bothered about cost go and find a stockist and try them - I almost guarantee you'll but them on the spot. They're made for angling where most of t

    Leader/Leadcore

Call it what you want fella. It's fished up the leader, like a chod, but constructed like a HSR.

  11. I'm pretty sure chill is on bolts there, Think he mentions it in the running /big fish thread. But either way, its not a problem, running rigs you'd just lift the rod before stopping the line, bolts, well you'd expect the job to be done before lifting the rod. Not that I strike on running rigs, that might be down to fishing slack, I only get screamers that I tighten up to. I'm completely oblivious to "getting done" ....which means I have a 100% hook up ratio
