    Having a nightmare

A club water I fished years ago had its share of idiots... swim hogging was a common practice and groups of mates fishing a swim on an unauthorised rota to get round the long stay rules... they got really nasty if you quoted the rules.... it hacked me off to the point where I dobbed a load of em in to the committee.... if stopped for a while and some guys lost their tickets, but it left a sour taste and I left soon afterwards but it does pee you off that folks behave in this way... there's no need for it...

I just got a message from a mate, we have been invited up to have a look around when we can fit in with the syndicate manager. Glad I have been holding back on money while I've not been working. Saved up in case the worst happened and the hotel didn't reopen.

    Back to pastures old

Nothing doing this time , back home now, tail between my legs, I got a plum swim but I think I was too focused on that this time, its another swim ticked off the list and learnt a bit about,I also got to fish at 20+ wraps so that was new, the air bomb didn't like it much though or I couldn't quite get the distance maybe a midi would be better 😞, the throwing stick just about made it though but my arm is hurting today, I forgot my spomb I think that would have got the distance, lessons learnt, I also think I need to go back to using bags lol, ever since I've stopped, I've certainly been catching nothing , that spot would've been good for bags as it was quite clear, might be a struggle to get them the distance though, but practice makes perfect, it would be doable I think, πŸ€” Next time I need to suss out part of the big bit of the lake, I am struggling to work them out at the moment, they don't seem to be where I think they will 😁

Had a day today found them showing on the wind totally different part of the lake ,didnt know what was on the bottom automatically thought it will be the same as the rest of the lake silt sand and weed!!! Had a full blown run felt a good lump then it turned an everything locked up felt it kick off with the shoes an socks bottoms up in I went to find boulders not stones boulders put in place to stop the liner lifting when the lake was dug gutted is an understatement still learnt alot more about the lake so all positive

    Back to pastures old

I'm venturing back to pastures old tomorrow for a fleeting overnighter after work, I'm hoping it is going to be less busy due to the abhorrent weather we are having,I dream of setting up in one of the plum swims this weekend but we shall see, might just have to settle for what I can, keeping it simple though, and hopefully will be singing in the rain this time tomorrow β˜”πŸŽΆπŸ˜‚

    Throwing stick.

Well I did a bit of searching on this forum and another one that I go on and was reading about the more budget carbon throwing sticks and ngt came up quite a lot. So I went on google didn’t find a lot of reviews but I couldn’t find a bad one. So I completely ignored what yonny told me and bought a ngt, sorry yonny πŸ˜€ But if it breaks first time out it’s my own fault mate. πŸ™‚πŸ‘

Thank you blue label I'll help anyone if possible on here or in life I am a confident man I've lived a life like most folks on here , I love doing my thing and will allways do my thing I dont break rules I use the most powerful weapon in the world the brain I suffer with frontal lobal epilepsy and shouldn't fish on my own but I do i also dont sleep much because my brain dont switch off fishing is my way of relaxing and unwinding being out with mother nature is my tranquility just a shame it's to be shared with fools sometimes there we go that's life.

    Having a nightmare

Sadly we all have to put up with our share of idiots from time to time... whether on a forum or on the banks... we've had one or two on here lately... but its how you deal with them that will define you... I do me own thing keep me head down and crack on, as do all the other lads on here... if you wan't help with owt, there are any number of folks who are willing and more than able to help or point you in the right direction and if you are a confident type yourself,... then maybe passing on some knowledge to a newbie is a way of putting summat back into your sport The idiot on the other bank moaning about you fishing on his spots, or swim hoggers, stroke pullers, rule breakers, poachers... they are the sorts that our sport can well do without... Tight lines

    Having a nightmare

I joined a new club in January of this year and the first time I went for a walk around the place I got a very similar reception as you, it was more trying to put me of fishing this one particular lake and pointing me In other directions of other waters on the ticket. I felt like you kiss my backside and I’ll do my own thing, but I put a similar post on here and was told a lot of places are the same. So I just went fishing kept myself to myself and they came chatting to me. They have a totally different attitude now and when I went o Sunday we were just chatting like nothing had happened. Just give it time mate it will all work out.πŸ‘

    Sleeping Bag

I was in my Nash scope brolly with an Abode overwrap, my bag is a Nash Frostbite sub zero fitted on a Wideboy... it wasn't cold, but there was a chill wind I was toasty... not the cheapest bag but the dual top layer is very versatile

Fish zigs. That way your hookbait is nowhere near the bottom where all this uneaten food is.

    Sleeping Bag

I’ve got to agree with highy on this one. It is the best I’ve had but it is also the only one I’ve had and it was free I won it along with the bed and pillow. I find them all excellent really comfortable bed and pillow and the sleeping bag is nice and warm. I’ve not done a winter night but I’ve done one in March and I was plenty warm enough with t shirt and Cargo pants on.

    Sleeping Bag

He's not so bad with his Food n Water... He loves the bag too. Think it's because the 5 season bag is mainly all flecced inner under the duvet part and is also quite thick.

    Too much bait

The problem is there are too many guys that are prepared to chuck kilos and kilos in when they are unable to determine whether there are feeding fish in front of them or not. There is no problem using big qty's of bait if you're on them and it's getting eaten. People need to use their eyes. You can tell if your spot is getting smashed to bits.

    Too much bait

The carp won't be " full up " as they don't have a stomach to fill . If there's lots of uneaten bait it could point to other problems not just anglers piling in to much bait . Personally I would be checking the lakes ( DO ) levels this has the biggest effect on all the fish in the lake & there ability to feed . Also predation is something to keep an eye on ( what's left in the lake ) .
