  1. Private hire carp lakes

Thanks framey, manor farm? Is that the one at Biggleswade?
  2. Hi, Iā€™m looking at booking a lake for a weekday for up to 6-10 carp anglers in March or April for 2 nights, 3 days. This is for my stag do, all my colleagues are competent anglers (not noddys with all the gear and no idea!) we are all sensible and would like somewhere that has no silly rules, be able to have a drink (sensibly) and possibly a bbq. Ideally the location of the lake would be in Herts/beds/bucks areas (but will consider further afield). Have fairly good facilities (not essential) safe parking. Any ideas greatly appreciated šŸ‘
  3. Sleeping bags

Same as with Trakkerproducts, I spent Ā£500 on an armadillo camo bivvy and winter skin. Had to wait 2 weeks for delivery. Picked it up from my local shop. Straight down the lake with it for a weekend session. Started to put up bivvy and all the inside was stuck together and the inner waterproof silicone type liner was pulling away from the material of the bivvy.m same with the winter skin. Took it back to shop on the Monday morning, they sent it back saying I had neglected it and badly treated it!! Never got my money back or a replacement. Will never buy their products again!!!

  5. Sleeping bags

Dayvid, thank you for your reply. I understand what you're saying and I would only probably be wearing track suit bottoms and hoody. If you saw what I have to wear at the moment I look like the Michelin man. Vest top, thermal t-shirt, polo shirt, hoody top, Woolley jumper, Woolley hat, bib a brace, hooded coat. As you can imagine I'm pretty restricted on movement lol.
  6. Hi, looking at getting a new sleeping bag to fit my Nash wide boy bedchair. Price not really an issue, so looking for recommendations. It has to be an all season bag. At present I've got a fox 5 season bag which is about 17 years old and using a Trakkerproducts throw over top as well. Looking for a bag those really warm so I don't have to wear layers of clothes! whats people got and views/recommendations? thanks for your help šŸ˜
  7. Why fish abroad?

Totally agree in what your saying there's nothing quite like what you say about seasons etc... it's something magical. I love the history of the old carp and love reading stories about old lakes etc...I think "a passion for angling" gives me goosebumps as redmire is on my bucket list. I'm old skool carper and just love the English weather, heritage and history of certain lakes that not many people get to fish. Couldn't have put it better myself. Doesn't mean I haven't considered fishing abroad I just prefer to fish uk waters catching old warriors, beautiful dark carp.
