  5. I mentioned in my previous captcher that visits to the lake bank have been very few a far between this year so I'm really happy to be subbing at the moment which means weekends have been free. The friday just gone I was able, again to get down to a local water to do a bit of socialising with a friend where we did a 24 hour session. So I rushed down to the lake before the light went got set up. On arriving the lake was quite busy and to my advantage (i thought so any way) 2 pegs at one end of the lake were free and alot of noise coming from most of the other swims so quite happy to be away from all that. Getting all 3 rods out just before dark and decided to keep them at close distance as there were alot of fish show close by. My mate and I were excited and thought we were both in for a few fish. My first fish came at just before 9pm weighing a resonable 15lb 8oz and a lovely common it was. 1.30am and a couple of bleeps woke me off my sneaky rod set up in the smallest of openings, another common this time 15lb on the button. 3.10am and this time my middle rod which I had close up to a feature which everyon seems to over look, bleeped a few time and with me being wide awake I was quick to react and a 13lb 4oz common was on the bank. I choose to leave the 2 rods the had the fish on out so that I could get a few ours sleep. The morning was very quiet until 11am and the middle rod absolutely rawed off and after quite a good fight I managed to land a 17lb common. A beautiful looking fish so thats why i got a couple of shots of this beaut...!!
  6. Thanks all for the comments and Zammo i really am smiling hard inside...lol
  7. Bought myself a decent camera at the start of the year but have only got to use it a had full of times. Here is a few from a couple of lakes visited this year so I hope you like them!

  9. Well done blackwidow some nice looking fish that you've caught
  10. Having had so little time on the bank this season (only about 5 day sessions and a 3 day anual session) I was really keen to get down to a friendls local lake for a days fishing with a couple of friends. My friend had reserved us a couple of peggs next to each as he had gone down on the friday night. My mate and I joined him in the morning at around 7 and he was not a very happy lad as he had not pick up a single bleep in the night. Any way I quickly set up 2 rods and got to work on seeing where i would put my baits. With not a single fish coming out the lake for a few days I knew this was going to be a hard old slog but was feeling confident in my bait, rigs and presentation. But still nothing with the odd bleep thrown in every few hours off one rod. Heavy fizzing and fish rolling over my spots were starting to do my head in as there were no takes. So i decided to get all my rods onto this one spot where they seemed to be holing up. I managed to get tight up to a set of reeds right out in front of me at about 40 yards and when you know its a good cast when you hit it first time and you feel the lead down too. I decided to stick 2 rods only about 5 feet apart as this is where they seem to have been for most of the day. 6 o'clock came and as the last bit of light was fast dissapearing a single bleep on my right rod came followed by 2 bleeps. That was it, I struck hard and yes I was in to a fish. A quick fight and it was in the net, was so chuffed as I have only had one other out this year. A bit of an old battle axe but at 20lb 4oz Im not moaning. I know I don't look happy but trust me I was made up...Result....!!

I took Jack fishing this week and gambled on showing him how I fish instead of the match fishing. We went to a local day tickect water (Mill Farm, Gilmorton) I'd set up two rods hoping for a couple of takes. No sooner had I got the second rod in I did not get a chance to turn the alarm on and it went screaming off. I told Jack to hang on for dear life and real in, he struggled and struggled and I refused to help him with the rod as I knew he'd be ok. After about 3 minutes I had the beauty in the net and it looked a decent size. 18lb 8oz Mirror.....what a corcker for jack to land. Love the cheesy grin..!! sorry about the kit in the back ground. I should know better..!! Here is Jacks fish in all its glory The same rod screamed off after about only 20 minutes, Jack kindly said 'you can have this one Fran' lol. Another cracking looking mirror and at 17lb I was chuffed...!
