  10. So true mate! Ofcourse the big names are gonna use shop bought jars of the ready made stuff, and tins of ready to go instant carp success! THEY GET PAID TO PROMOTE THE BAIT! Let's face it its basically monkey see monkey do, and 11 years ago I was the victim of it when I started getting into carping, I watched KORDA s o t a underwater carp fishiing, and it changed my life! DF showed you how to catch big carps, so I honestly went out and bought a few kilo of mainline fusion, pva funnel web, readymade jar of parti mix, 2 tins of hemp, (1 to keep in my motor if I needed it just like danny did) korda leadclips korda leads 3 spools of x-line etc etc etc! Did I catch carp? Ofcourse I did, but so did my mate who had never seen a carp dvd or mag in his life! At the end of the day they are not telling you what you NEED! They are telling you HOW THEY catch carp! And which products THEY USE to improve their catch rate! Its up to you as an angler to either take it onboard and do the exact same! Or filter out all the product placement and adapt your own ideas! Nearly everyone is in the same boat these days (money wise) and sometimes I physically can't get to the lake cos I can't afford the fuel to get me there! But whilst I'm not at the lake, I'll still be watching danny and the boys and use some of their tactics but adapt them to my style and budget of fishing! Fish safe... Bill

  15. ive got a set of the original shimano big bait runner long casts, which i love!!! but ive just seen the new shimano big baitrunner XTA which i got told was the newly designed long cast? now personally i think the new ones look look ultra sexy and being a bit of a tackle tart, thats what got me interested! so i went to the tackle shop who had 2 but had sold both before i got a look! but speaking with the bloke, he said to stick with the old ones as he didnt think the new ones were as good!! anyone got a shimano big baitrunner xta? who used to have long casts? and what do you think?? bill

  21. ok i have 4 different sleeping bags that i use for fishing, il give their good points and bad points and why i either use/dont use them anymore and when i would use them. 1, british army issued sleeping bag good points, its the daddy! warm nomatter what temperature! cheap to buy, robust, pockets inside bag bad points, its tapered towards the bottom so a bit of a snug fit, one single zip going half way down the centre of the bag so might be difficult for some guys to get out of in a hurry. no securing points use- use all year round, great for cold temps! 2, starbaits specialist sleeping bag good points, breakout zips that work, securing flaps at top and bottom and securing strap in middle, , very roomy, built in pillow bad points because the bag is so big, you get cold spots inside the bag. this could probably be resolved if u have a wide boy bedchair. use-all year round but great in spring summer and autum 3, snugpack softie elite good points, so warm!!!!! down to -20, robust, expanding zip options (makes the bag more roomy) bad points tapered towards the bottom, no breakout zips, zip only on 1 side, no securing points. use-in winter this bag comes into its own! keeping you warm even in extreme temps, nice and snug! 4, nash snug bug extreme, good points, fleece lining, securing straps. bad points, break out zips gets jammed everytime you try to get out quick for a take, freezing in cold temps, fleece gets stuffy in the summer use- only if every sleeping bag in the world spontainiously combusted and there were no animals around to hunt and skin to use their hides (i hate this bag) i also use a cyprinus fleece lined bed chair cover! its awesome, waterproof, windproof, securing points, and a built in zip away mozzie net! fish safe... dont have nightmares bill
