  1. Like funky says.....do you even need the shock leader.? Cause I'm betting that you don't...what distances are you trying to cast.? Is it for the 120 yards you where looking for on your previous thread.? If so, then like I said then, if you can't cast it then you can't cast it.....work on your technique, but a shock leader ain't gonna give you extra distance mate........if you do want to persevere with it though......have a look at the Albright knot, bit tricky to tie, but very strong, small and goes through the eyes of my spod rod no bother at all cause you can trim the tag ends down too almost nothing...
  2. Do you mean what used to be the selby 3 lakes complex mate.? If so, i heard all the biggies came out of the day ticket water and where put into the syndicate water after the owners split the lake after their divorce........still a poular syndicate from what i gather but the day ticket water isnt so hot from what ive been told.......
  3. How come I cant say hob K n o b....but he can say tit.? Theres a rabbit off here me thinks....
  4. I saw this on thinking tackle a while back as well......im with andy, the idea of using 2 hooks on a rig just dosent sit right with me......you can use maggots on a rig without having to use maggot clip or 2 hooks mate......just use floss.....
  5. Cant speak for the microcat mate, but on the vipers the handset has trim controls for the jets.....i.e if pulling to the left you can reduce the right jet power to bring it back straight.....or increase the left etc.......do the cats not have some sort of trim feature.?
  6. I am 5'2 but a javalin thrower so have some core strength for the casts, my height doesn't usualy matter except with my casting! , sorry mate, I meant how far short of the 120yards are you...... about 35yards My point before Nathen was that some people just arnt going to be distance anglers regardless of how much they want to be, or how much they are willing to splash out on more expensive gear, only to find out they still cant hit the distances they want......it's not a criticism at all because Im one of them, I dont know how far I can cast but I know I start losing accuracy after about 80yards, so I also lose confidence......and Im 6ft 3 and nearly 20 clem......... develop your casting as much as you can, but dont become obsessed by distance and still concentrate on what what you know your good at......

  8. Anything come out after we all left Carl.? No mate, still not a thing. Nath took the water temp this morning at 5.3 degrees, still very cold ain't it. Yeah it is mate,,, just had to wash your hands off in it for 10 seconds to feel how cold it was mate......Glad the locals didnt come on straight after us though and start catching ...... Enjoyed your company on the Costa Del Sol bank anyway mate......
  9. How far are you short.?........ not everyone can cast 120 yards regardless of gear or physical stature.....Even if Danny tells you they can, they cant...... Ps....Bait boats arnt cheating .......but that for a different thread .....
  10. Stop it, your making me blush You do realise though Phil your now my partner in crime when it comes to winding people up, dont you You too mate, like I said before Thoroughly enjoyed your company mate....
  11. Just echoing a lot of whats been already been said but thoroughly enjoyed myself again despite the conditions and the fish's refusal to join in...... To the lads i'd never met before, Phil, Ross, Ben and Graham, it was a pleasure to meet you all.... To the lads I didnt get to spend as much time with as I'd have liked, I apologise but im sure we'll meet again and I look forward to it..... Big thanks to Helen for the Curry, Rich the Bailiff for looking after us, Ian for cooking the Barbie and our breakfast on sunday and last but not least Chris for organising the whole thing, Personally mate, I wouldnt have blamed you in the least if you hadnt been there or pulled off when you saw the conditions while your in the middle of Chemo but you didnt and you stayed......If ever there was an example of "This isnt going to change me or my life" that was it......Top man....., I have to say though, you could have made an effort and had a shave...... Like Nige said.....Im really glad That I can call you all mates....
