  1. I don't see why it should be closed, its been an interesting thread. Don't get on your high horse, you don't have the powers, and your attitude isn't going to help you People have tried to help you, although because of what a forum is, they tend to get sidetracked and take the discussion in different directions, not all of the comments are even aimed at you. Incidentally I let the topic carry on, because of it is general discussion, however I know that on carpforum your thread was locked. Unfortunately for you I think it shows that you can't start a topic only for your own
  2. If you must then please do close this thread, as much as some of you have helped its clear im not wanted. It was not intended to create any arguments, about any foreign imports, which is the way some people may view this thread. Regards
  3. Im quite aware of the situation with imported fish and I know threads like these can get out of hand and end up being locked. I've seen it all before. I was merely asking in my first post for names of fisheries that others may know, as although I know a few, there may be more extreme cases out there. Yes, but you got answers off senior members, who know what can and can't be posted, a simple disscussion like what is on this thread will never get it locked, the point of forums are for people's ideas, discussions and perceptions. Thing is that if a fishery is Instant and stocked wi

  5. Although it is important to find out the views of others, it is very hard to cite a forum comment in a university essay. Im also quite clued up on alot of this already, having heavily researched and fished pavyotts mill, twice. My best chance of referencing comes from official magazines, websites and organisations such as ECHO. I just hoped by posting my initial message on a site like this, I could increase my case study tally and learn the views on the fisheries mentioned. Cheers

I was merely asking in my first post for names of fisheries that others may know, grown on themselves, imports abroad, or from farm fisheries within the UK
  7. This post is not to cause argument or stir feelings that may exist within the forum. Im just looking for some guidance. Please do not use this thread to vent your anger at any of the fisheries mentioned. I'm simply after a list of fisheries that match my description, if that is not possible then please dont comment. Thanks
  8. You could have bitten off a fair chunk with that as a topic choice! You could add loads more waters, Oak Lodge in Essex, Catch22 in Norfolk (used to be known as Lyng Easthaugh) and many other waters. You could even actually add probably almost all of the current Commercial waters available in the country. Not saying that all of them have imported fish from abroad, but many have purposely bought big fish in from fish farms, or even from other fisheries. Suffolk Water Park was taken over and fish were moved from a lake out near Sudbury, and one of them was The Clare Park fish, l
  9. Im not suggesting that they are necessarily easily as many lakes are not. But they do contain bigger fish (whether imported from abroad or not) and are non syndicate waters. They also charge more than the average water, as there is an expectation of catching bigger fish?
  10. Afternoon all, first poster here. Im studying enviromental geography/science and have an assignment due for when I return. We were asked to write an 2500 word essay (quite lengthy) on a topic of our choice. Being an angler I have decided to study the controversy and impact surrounding 'instant big fish' venues in the UK. In short I'm looking at the types of venues where big fish have been imported: from other lakes within the UK, grown on themselves, and or from abroad. I am looking to get a numebr of case studies (around 15) for which I can base my essay on. I am looking for lakes th
