  1. wind had been in my favor fish where showing about rod length half out. couple guys to my left few pegs up where throwinging floaters which was coming my way so i saved my bait just fished a fox zig aligner about foot of surface@7ft was first time using the foe edges zigs certainly given me confidence in them i did dip them in some hemp juise from the hemp frenzy range. but tbh think that made little difference as i was fortunate the fish where there was just finding the depth.
  2. Ty all and good luck tidyboy on france over weekend. tight lines there. im going to try get a 48 hr in end june will let you know more soon as looked at dates.
  3. Hi guys as i said i would keep you posted, had my first 48hr session over the week end. went with a fox aligner zig 7ft put me about 1 ft under the surface around rod and half length out, and bousoule rig in line. the zig was most the busiest of the 2 rods with first fish a 9.12lb mirror shortly followed with my new pb 17.5lb mirror not long followed a 13lb common with another common 2lb also fell to the zig. on the bottom i was fishing a peaches n cream 15ml bollie balanced with a avid corn stop which produced nothing at this point after debating on a bait change i found an old tub of gluggers from novation so poped one them on with corn stop which shorlty produced a 16lb common. was great start to the sess on fri. then all went quiet until 4am sun morn where a 8lb mirror fell to a peaches n cream bollie. now itching to get to catch 22 in may. ty for all who helped me with any questions i posted to lead up of the session. tight lines guys
  4. Yes bud think your right. I popped down to my local for walk around today was few coming out 9.5lb and guy was weight a 17lb the is 20 also looking forward to getting down there
  5. It comes back round to the start of SW thread. I merely suggested the floro as another approach as long as you clean the line on retrieval you will optimise's its main use and as for only being a one acre lake the casting should not be that detrimental.as for all the baiting ideas with such nuisance fish about maybe feeding them off with maggots corn hemp pellets with few the odd spomb bollies.over the intended spot. for few hours before even putting a line out then try putting two rods on the spot may well prove worthy ??
  6. I`m trying to look for a national map of ottar problems however cant find any thing do you have any suggestions.?
  7. Hi again SW just thought, hows your main line and hook length set up. as they not fished for that often may be the slightest thing is spoking them how about flourocarbon as a main line and rig set up. keep thinking of things that may help you in this challenge. im still waiting to get my lines wet getting fed up with lack of funds atmo and my licences will expire now so more expense
  8. Done Just one question has there been a FB page set up. for an Otter Watch where spread can be monitored ?

    Zigs

I did not see the nash vid, I saw the fox Edges promo vid and i know it all to sell tackle but these guys are all ever trying to improve their catches through innovating their brands. im going to give the zig aligners a go but the hole for eye of the hook is too small in my oppion as tring to get size 6 on seems little messy but never the less looking forward to trying them out for a day. at my local i got 12ft water to play with so at the moment got few ready made between a couple ft will probably have to make few more before i get depth right i guess. ill prob fish 2 zigs and a bottom bait if zigs work ill put 3rd zig on and prebait a spot for the night on bottom baits.

    Zigs

Ooo err Mrs Yep ! I got it out of carpworld . The frankie howard zig rig ! that makes sense i only got into zigs last year, a couple regulars where at the local for a week end, think on the sat they decided to have a competition with each other as they sat there all day fishing zigs trickling pellet over the top. they where pulling in fish all day they varied their depth with the fish. communicating together at the depth changes as each one was catching. they pull few fish even then when it quiet they alltered depth they both then changed and there was another battle in numbers between them lol. 20lb fish came out in every so often but the fish where all mainly above or around my pb at 13lb. so i been researching, since on zigs and i think the best way to fish them is to keep food souce thrikling in.
  12. bit late to reply but yes do, do it as i wanted too but misses has to go into work so i got kids and with the weather looking good want to get most out my 2 rod licenses, as not sure ill be able to buy 2 this year DONT let the side down lol
