  1. Thanks for all your replies. I may get shot down by all other pikers but I use maxima chameleon. I use it for general coarse and never had any problems so just went with the higher breaking strain.
  2. Hi all, I'm looking to fill my spare spools up with line for carp. So far I've been using the line I use for my pike fishing. What breaking strain, mono/braid do you guys use? Many thanks.
  3. Pike fishing has had it hard. All my local waters ain't worth fishing now. It now looks like carp fishing is going the same way. It's very disappointing.
  4. I heard laymoor was polluted killing off most of its stock??? Something about chemicals being leaked into the brook that feeds into the pool. I did fish there a couple of years ago a few times, plenty of fish. As no one else fishes it now I believe the rumours must be true. The grapes pool looks a nice pool but carp wise I don't know what the stocking has been like??? I've pleasure fished there and had tench and carp around 1lb. Maybe needs a few years to mature. Although I've seen a few bivvys over there. Sheepwash lane is best avoided cars and tackle aint safe around that area. I've never thought of fishing the canals for the carp, it's something I will have to look into along with the other pools you have mentioned. Thanks.
  5. Thanks for all the replies I actually live in Bilston so not to far from you.
  6. Thanks for the replies. I've had a look through the search but most of what I'm finding is club waters although the club's do look like they have some nice waters. I guess I should have said day ticket to start with. I am now however tempted with joining a club if they have an "easy" water for me to get started! I will only be able to do day fishing rather than night fishing. Anybody know what bayliss pools is like now. All the old reviews make it sound like a waste of time trying it. Which one is the carp pool?
  7. Hi all, As a beginner can anyone point me of a good water that has the potential of a few fish. Size isn't really an issue at the moment I'd just like to get used to catching then build up to the monsters. I'm from wolverhampton and would travel upto 25 miles. Is there such a pool out there for me? Many thanks.
  8. Thanks for the welcome, seems like I will feel right at home here!
  9. Hi all, Does anybody know much about the pools this club own. I'm thinking of joining as it aint far for me to travel. I only get to go out once a month so any good tips you could offer would be much appreciated. Thanks.
  10. Hi all, I'm new to carping but not coarse fishing. I used to do alot of pleasure fishing in the warmer months catching whatever picked up my bait and pike fishing in the colder months. I hope I can learn more about carp fishing using this forum whilst not out on the bank.
