justcarpn
On this day April 9, 2013 I went fishing and it was around 80 3 deg. The fish were on top of the water getting sun and that was all that they were worrier with that day. I did get 6 or seven on grits the whole day lone. They went from around 9lbs to about 13 lbs. all in all it was fun just the same and I got sunburn that’s not fun.
ianain
It can be difficult when they are up in the water. Evenings and mornings are the best times. Did you try any floating baits?

ianain
You could try a zig rig or float fishing very shallow. Zig rig is a pop-up bait fished where the distance between your lead stop and the hook length is used to determine the depth that you fish at. Maggots fished shallow can be good in these circumstance as they sink slowly and are not too much of a mouthful which can result in the fish having a go.
