An NXG Clothes Tube.

I think it's a great bit of kit. Simple yet effective 8)

So you put them in dirty one end and they come out clean the other.... Brilliant

That's nothing new. All I'm doing is upgrading from two bags to one.

I normally take clean clothes out of one bag and put dirty in another bag. The clean bag has never emptied and the dirty bag has never filled up

I've always had a sharpening stone previous to the flat file and I really like it. It's got three V shaped grooves to keep it on the hook. 2on one side and one one the other. I found it on eBay and they do a range of shapes, flat to cone.

Owing to the fact that I am an ancient crumbly ol' so and so my gear has tended to get lighter of recent years. But one thing that has remained a constant is my faithfull JRC STi 1 man Bivvy, however it does weigh a bit, especially with the Multi-fit overwrap.

So for day / overnight sessions I went for a Korum Mk2 shelter, which is light and small enough to go into the centre pocket of my quiver.

It takes seconds to put up, as it should with only 2 poles, with 2 joints per pole, and just 5 pegs. But it did have a drawback in cold and rough weather conditions, namely its open front. BIG drawback in the recent weather!

So I cracked open the BOF wallet, and invested in the Korum's matching Overwrap, here's hoping it is as wind and waterproof as the STi has been over the years.

The overwrap set me back almost as much as the original shelter, a tad under £70. Which to my mind is a lot for a simple cloth overwrap with no extra support poles, the only extras are pegs and a groundsheet.

But there again the original Shelter is a quality piece of work, really wind / waterproof, and the overwrap looks to be the same quality of workmanship so I cant complain too much. Especially when you compare it to some of the mainstream bivvies from Nash, Fox, etc.

BOF

PS I gave up on 2 man bivvies when I found that I was picking pegs to suit the bivvy, rather than where the fish were.

It took a while to get used to the much smaller space, but it was worth the changes I had to make.

Besides if I am going for a week or so, I still have the STi with the extension overwrap to use, (as long as somebody else carries the thing). :D

An Avid Carp Zig Box.

Well disappointed. Wish I'd gone for the Fox Zig Disc.

The reels for storing the zigs are good, but the case is cack. One of the clips that shut it snapped as I opened it; and this was at indoor room temperature, not outside on a cold winter or autumnal day

I contacted Avid nearly a week ago and have heard nothing from them. Pretty disappointed to be honest.

The Avid Carp 5+ Rod Holdall had made it to top of my list, but that's now on hold.

If I get no joy with a response and a replacement from Avid. I won't be spending any money on Avid Carp products at all

I was going to go up the shop this weekend to get one out and, if I liked, walk away with one.

Do you know if you get two protective rod covers with the holdall for the spod and marker rod quiver pockets on the front, Andy?
