How to not mix tip secions

Recommended Posts

Now I have two Greys Prodigy GT3 rods, 2.5 and 2.75lb I think its important I do not get the top sections mixed up, why don't they mark them with test curve like they do on the butt sections ?

I am sure it would be a big no no to mix top sections from different rods

Hi There

as I have rods of the same test curve and dont want to mix the tops up

I use a blob of tippex on one of the rods on each of the two sections so that you cannot mix them up

sure someone will be along soon to give you better way

:) James

I have my rods in seperate rod cases that clip onto my quiver .

No chance of getting em mixed up .

If you only set up and pack away one rod at a time it couldnt happen could it ?

I suspect that this scenario must happen at times. I say this based upon the fact that when I took my 3 Greys Prodigy's to be converted to full cork handles and lightly customised the rod builder marked each of my rods, butt and top sections, in such a way as to prevent this.

He neatly marked A, B and C near to the spigot joints. Dunno what he used but the letters are indelible and unobtrusive.

The butt sections have it written on.. No?

of course they do milky  but what you saying about the tips????

take the tips.....support them horizontally, add weight to the tips...The one that takes the most to bend to 90 degrees is the stiffer section.
