Do you use binoculars to aid you?

Fish spotting, identifying bubbles or cloudy patches, floater fishing and occasionally (sad to admit) watching other anglers.

I have a set of Practica Sport Zoom binoculars, go from 8-30x.

Just remember if you use them at high magnification, shake and lack of focus can be an issue though.

If so - which ones do you use?

I broke my old ones today whilst sorting out kit, so need a new pair.

Also - has anybody tried the night-vision bino's I see advertised?

Thanks

Turnip , as you can see , this thread was just asking for trouble .

Pervs :)

I use binos all the time, along with photos, swim sketches, markering and mapping it all up it helps build up an over all picture of my swims. especially now im on a brand new lake. still awaiting my first carp, but i know im getting close. its not an easy water, so i just need to keep building up the picture and filling in the blanks. no tennis/running/skinny dipping shenanegans to watch though...

I just bought a pair of Olympus 8x40 DPSI. (whatever that means :mrgreen:)

They look good!

Amazon?

Mine get used all year, even at quite close range; identifying bubbles, cloudy patches of water etc.

As for the 'angler watching', it can be quite disconcerting when you can tell him what his fish weighed from across the lake,

I use a spotting scope now, find it easier on the eyes (I start to go bonk eyed with my bino's after a while!) and better range, plus you can tripod mount it.

My syndicate is in the grounds of a place where they hold weddings etc, you should see what the posh birds get up to on the veranda after a few too many pimms.......
