I work at a specialist Academy with children from all aspects of the Autism spectrum.  They are all the same but are all different, each and every one of them is unique and will benefit greatly from one to one  attention.  Main stream schools really are not the right place for the attention they crave.

Some days are worse than others and each and every child has their own particular bad days, however for every frustrating day there are several days of good solid progression, the staff are all dedicated and totally professional and in the 18 months that the Academy has been open I have seen children change almost totally.

I would urge any parent or guardian with kids on the spectrum to get them into a specialist school.    Move to the midlands and get them into mine I might even get to take them fishing.

that is good news Trev, my son is in a specialist school at the moment but they have had a change of top level staff (headmaster) and it has completely altered the direction of the school. i get the impression that this has upset the apple cart where the students are concerned, it has certainly affected the parents attitude toward the school.

where are you based? pm if you dont want to advertise bud
